NYC Subway application for iPhone & iPod touch

NYC Subway application for iPhone and iPod touch has been released in September 2012. It is available for devices with iOS 4.0 and up. It includes all features of the BlackBerry version of this application: official New York subway map, live information, powerful trip planner, quick train departures times lookup and more. RailBandit NYC Subway app for BlackBerry is the only available standalone trip planner that covers entire New York City subway. Starting with version 2.6.0 it includes official New York subway map, used with permission by MTA.

To download, point your BlackBerry to railbandit.com/wap and select NYC Subway

It finds the fastest route between any two stations taking the current schedules into account, then provides you with the trip details including departure and arrival times, as well as waits between transfers.

You can use the map to find the closest station to any location on the map or select the line and then subway stop. Either way just a few clicks and you are on your way. It even works when you're offline underground.

New York Subway application is slower calculating the trips (especially trips involving two connections) because New York Subway is a very large system (consisting of 24 interconnected lines) with thousands of trains running around the clock, and this number is even greater during the peak hours. Depending on your phone, calculation can take between 20-30 seconds during the peak hours and even longer on older phones.
